Kingsbury General Improvement District
Water Treatment/Distribution Operator
The Kingsbury General Improvement District is now accepting applications for a water treatment/distribution operator. This is a full time position with salary depending on qualifications. Benefits include health, dental, vision and participation in the Nevada Public Employee Retirement System.

The successful applicant will work under general supervision and will perform a variety of operating, maintenance, and repair work on water system facilities and related equipment. This position may serve as the person in responsible charge of the water system in the absence of the Operations Superintendent. Employees are assigned a wide variety of duties involving the operation and maintenance of the water treatment, storage, pumping and distribution, and chemical feed systems. Employees are expected to carry out operational and maintenance duties in accordance with applicable regulations, and stated procedures and directions. This position reports to the Operations Superintendent.
Education and Experience
A combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school and three years experience in water system operations and maintenance is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of methods and tools used in the maintenance and repair of water and wastewater systems; ability to follow oral and written instructions, to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing, to work independently under only general supervision, to keep records and prepare reports, to make emergency repairs and/or adjustments on equipment and controls, to be in responsible charge of water system operations and maintenance on an intermittent basis, and to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers and the public
Licenses and Certificates
Grade II or III Water Treatment Certificate acceptable to the Nevada State Division Health and a Grade II or III Water Distribution Certification acceptable to the Nevada Bureau of Safe Drinking Water. Applicant must hold a valid Nevada or California motor vehicle driver’s license and good driving record.

Service Technician
SVGID is now accepting applications for the position of Service Technician. Applicant should have a minimum of 2 years experience in the following areas:
1) Repair, maintenance, and operation of water and sewer systems or other equivalent underground utilities.
2) Operation of equipment.
3) Construction.
Certificate in Water Distribution preferred. Applicant must have a valid NV driver’s license. Salary starting ranges $30,277 - $40,875 DOE. Excellent benefits. Offer of employment is subject to successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening /physical exam and background check.
